Artificial nutrition at home
The quality of life of patients who require artificial nutrition (oral, enteral, parenteral) at home is essentially dependent on a stable supply, training and organisation of all materials, the actual food and information. The administrative and logistical set-up of the necessary infrastructure is often a major challenge for the patients concerned and their relatives, but also for professionals such as nurses, doctors and dieticians. The Homecare section would like to offer assistance here by providing contact addresses for recognised homecare providers, templates for cost credit applications and guidelines and recommendations.
Products authorised by the cash register
The SMNI specialist group publishes on its website a list of dietary foods for special medical purposes that have been professionally assessed by GESKES in accordance with criteria 2.2.2 of the GESKES guidelines. The centrally managed list includes reimbursable FSMP products and speciality products for the sole use in metabolic diseases or congenital disorders in accordance with the GGML (including iFSMP).
The list is updated at regular intervals. Requests for additions to the list must be submitted directly to the specialist group on the given inspection dates. SMNI be addressed.

Homecare provider
Homecare providers must all be recognised by the SVK and GESKES with the aim of ensuring a high level of quality and standardisation for patients receiving artificial nutrition at home. Recognition as a homecare provider requires that all criteria in the guidelines are met. This is checked by the GESKES in the form of an audit, confirmed with certification upon fulfilment and reviewed at regular intervals.
