Overview
With the aim of better anchoring nutritional medicine in medical education, further education and training, the GESKES has developed a further education programme for the additional title "Interdisciplinary focus on nutritional medicine". This programme was implemented jointly with the SIWF and the FMH on 1 July 2021.
Target group and goals
This interdisciplinary specialisation offers interested medical specialists the opportunity to deepen their existing knowledge and acquire new specialist knowledge. This makes them competent partners for their patients in all nutritional matters.
At the centre of this training is the CAS Interprofessional Nutritional Medicine. The integration of various virtual elements enables young doctors to carry out the programme alongside their everyday clinical work.
The overarching aim of the GESKES is to train at least one nutritionist in every hospital in Switzerland.
Training centre
The practical training takes place at training centres that are recognised by the GESKES and the SIWF. These may be Swiss hospitals or institutions that specialise in nutritional medicine.
The postgraduate training centre is managed by a person responsible for postgraduate training, who must be a holder of the interdisciplinary specialisation in nutritional medicine and work at least 50% in-house.
The application for recognition as a training centre must be submitted to GESKES.
